Quarter-finalists Nick Dewhirst had a good run with John Preston whilst 2005 winners Stuart Hanson and Chris Mordue also reached the last eight

 

Semi-finalists John Armitage almost made the final with Richard Stockdale whilst the 2007 champs Gary Wike and Jon Edmondson could not quite make it back to back finals
